Plants have always been a big interest of mine, so when I learned that I could grow plants here, I was ecstatic. When we went to the Home Depot-esque shop here, I was like a kid in a hardware store. Oh, wait…
Yesterday we got seeds, and dirt, and began planting. Our first batch was herbs. I was leaning towards veggies but mom wanted herbs. We cut open many juice boxes and poured dirt into them. Then, we made drainage holes on the bottoms. This is important because if you water your plants with no drainage, the dirt will turn into mud, which harms the plant. Anyhoo, For our first batch of herbs, we planted chamomile, oregano, basil and rosemary. I water them a little every morning, and make sure they’re alright. They haven’t sprouted yet though.
We don’t know what to plant next yet, but I hope maybe some local grains and plants native to here. We might do flowers, but this is unlikely. We might do some corns, but we think we don’t have enough space. Maybe I’ll decide with a coin flip.
I’ll be keeping you guys updated on this project. See you next time!
