Last minute details are for the birds

Today= bank, post office, car registration, storage unit, unpack, pack, laundry, invoices, emails. I need a break just thinking of all this! 11:05 AM Jul 10th, 2009 via web

Not even sure if this information requires a post, but as you can imagine,  the past few days were filled with busy shit. Car, insurance, registration, bank, travelers cheques, storage, packing. Feeling stressed and my face is breaking out. Miro is my rock of Gibraltar, mellow as can be, going with the flow. I am blessed he is my son. I am blessed we are having this adventure together. Still, the days before leaving promised stress, and is sure delivered.

How does a person pack for a month? Our back packs are stuffed to the hilt. What do I bring? What do I leave out. I think I’m doing pretty good, but my bag is so heavy. Clothes. I’ve never lived before without options. This should be interesting.

We spent our last night with our friends Anna and Matt. We actually spent a lovely night together in Venice beach. We set out for the boardwalk first, then we explored the Venice canals. Living in Los Angeles for most of my life, I never knew they existed. Back to Anna and Matt’s we went for dinner and wine and a last minute tutorial on travel. Loving that our last night was in the comfort of our friend’s home and blessed that they were our hosts.
