There is NO 3rd Option!

July 4, Day 4 Road Trip
There is No 3rd Option!!!!!!!!!!!
First thing early morning, I took Henry out for a walk along the shore. I started talking to a few people down the beach and they told me that a huge wind storm came and toppled people’s easy-ups and shade structures. Chairs went flying and there was sand everywhere. When I returned to our camp, I told Steve that’s what happened and he said he didn’t care. His shade structure couldn’t be used anymore and regardless, he was such an “idiot”, …

omg, finally understanding the culture behind the term “river rat”. 4:05 PM Jul 3rd, 2009 via Twittelator
The sleep in the camper was just as hot at the previous night, but there seemed to be more of a breeze. That was good. However, the campground was very very noisy with families drinking beers, lighting fire pits, etc. No worries, though, it was all part of the …

July 2, Day 2 Road Trip
London Bridge is Falling Down
The temperature at Lake Havasu is 1 million degrees! 1:16 PM Jul 2nd, 2009 via Twittelator

OK, we survived our first night in the camper, but barely. Temperature gauge, is off the charts. The gauge inside the un-airconditioned camper reads to 90 degrees only, but the needle is far past 90, literally off the charts. It’s hot.
I was warned about traveling through the desert in July, but I thought, “how bad could it be?” Last night I slept with wet wash …

Hit the Road Jack!

July 1, Day 1 Road Trip

Early morning in LA, almost all packed up, moving out of Andrea’s, hitting the road, heading to the Grand Canyon, ready for a soy latte, 6:51 AM Jul 1st, 2009 via web
Yes! We’re off! Not rested, but ready to go. Must tend to details first. Yes, details, details. First, drop off car at my mom’s, bring things to storage, but basically, we’re hitting the road, Jack!
I’ve never done a week long road trip before and happy my friend Steve was excited to go with …

My Secret Retreat – My Mother’s Garden on Mother’s Day

Mother’s day is always one of my favorite days, even before I became a mother myself. In my early 20′s I worked in restaurants, which was always the busiest day so my mom and I always celebrated mother’s day on a different day, which made it kinda special.

A 3 Hour Tour… and not a Hummer in sight!

It was so wonderful catching up with my old friend Robin. I haven’t seen her in about 5 years. Robin and I have know each other since we were 2 years old and even though we are polar opposites, it never seems to get in the way. Our friendship spans over 40 years, which makes it even more precious. Even when we have differences of opinions over politics, green issues, conservation and social issues, we always find a way to respect one an others …
