Cobá Ruins & the Monkey Sanctuary Punta Laguna Reserve

The cycle continues
We headed back to Cancun to stay with our couchsurfing hosts, Eric and Manolo. They are a gay couple, Monolo, a Mexican who lived in Los Angeles for many years and Eric, a native of France, have been life partners for over ten years. They work together, travel together and entertain together. Both are amazing artists, painters, and designers. We set out early in the morning, reversing our journey. Water taxi crossing, bus terminal in Belize City, then bus to the border. We reached the border, and waited to pass through the immigration. Belize requires an exit fee, so if you want to get out of this country, you must pay the $15 per person. I shelled out the $30 bucks for both Miro and I. We were picked out of the line by one of the immigration officers. He was a handsome black man with a Caribbean accent. …

These images were taken of the Folkloric Ballet dancers at the Plaza Grandeof, Merida’s main square. The traditional dance of the Yucatan features Yucatan dancers; women in huipiles or traditional white embroidered dresses and men in guayabera shirts.
