Creepy Pasta Card Game

Creepy Pasta Card Game
November 9, 2012 Miro Sevin Siegel

Alright, I had an idea a couple weeks ago, and a me and a friend of mine started working on it. It’s just what the title says, a creepypasta card game. For those of you who have no idea what creepypasta is, there will be a link down below. Those faint of heart and easily frightened may want to avoid reading any of the submissions there. Creepypasta is basically short horror microfiction. When I say horror, I don’t mean murders and slashers, I’m talking about the paranormal, stuff that really gets under your skin, stuff that makes you paranoid. I thought it was a great idea.

Pit a Little Demon Girl against a beast of insanity, Smiledog. The game plays out like this: everybody rolls the die, whoever rolls higher gets to set a location from their hand, and then play their turn. There’s also a bonus deck of cards, that if you roll a 3 at the end of you turn, your forced to pick up. Some of the cards will benefit you, while others may cause you to lose the game. It can get you to win, or screw up everything.

A turn consists of: Entity placing stage, Artifact using stage and Entity attacking stage (in their respective orders). Entity placing stage is when you can place an Entity card from your hand on to the field (You can place up to 3 entities at once, however, you may only have one legendary on field at once.) . Legendary entities are creatures from creepypasta that have gotten VERY famous, such as: Slenderman, Jeff the Killer, The Rake and Smiledog. These are only a few examples of the cards we have in the game so far.

Next comes the Artifact stage. Artifacts are similar to spells in other card games. Some have an instant effect, while others may take up to 6 turns, and the effects of every Artifact card vary. Some can cause death to a targeted entity, while others may risk their own, in return for devastating effects. Then comes the Entity attacking stage. During this stage you can choose which one of your entities to use one of their own attacks or “moves” on another entity. Different attacks do different things, and some attacks are exclusive to that entity. Some attacks deal Sanity damage, which cause an entity to slowly descend into insanity, while others deal physical damage, which can kill an entity. When an entity goes insane, they have a 50% Chance of harming themselves while attacking.

Thats the basic gist of it, and when one players entities have all died, that player loses. The last player with entities wins. Every player also starts with location cards, which do different things and give certain entities bonuses. For example, Slenderman gets a HUGE bonus from the dark forest, and paranormal type entities get a slight bonus from it. The cards themselves are a VERY basic draft, and the artwork is crude. Alot of things still need to be ironed out, but its in a playable state, and if I do say so myself, fairly entertaining. If you guys have read a creepypasta that you think could be added to the game, send us the link and I’ll take a look. We have beta tested this game frequently and it does work, so that’s good. I appreciate all the help I can get! Also, I’m still working on my novel, albeit at a very slow rate. It will eventually be released. Don’t worry.

We still haven’t named the card game yet, so if you have any ideas leave them in the comments below! Thanks in advance for your support!
