8:17 – Sun rises over the lodge and another day of adventure begins.

9:50 – Never knowing what to expect on the jungle floor, ants built a fresh dirt mound into a home.

10:14 – I had a stare down with this jungle monkey, guess who won?

11:28 – “Don’t you dare hit that wasp’s nest with your stick!” “Why not?” (a conversation between mother and son)

12:15 – An old tree branch becomes a home for new life. Completely fascinated by the vast array of mushrooms in the jungle. For some reason, I feel like eating a pizza.

12:04 – Mushroom count: 28

12:50 – Because of so many different types of mushrooms in the jungle, I have become a fat Italian plumber. Not really, but it’s fun to say. Think I’ll do some research when I get home.

12:56 m: Beautiful flowers. Nope, actually they are mushrooms. Mushroom count: 45

1:17 – Leaf Cutter ants, hard at work. Wonder what time they clock out?

2:05 – Best thing after a long Amazon walk: LUNCH!

3:54 – Taking a boat to an island to explore, but the island eerily reminds me of LOST! Wonder what’s in store!

4:22 – Wishing I had hunting skills like that.

4:30 – We’ve entered the perfect set for a horror movie.
