May Day Potluck
May Day!
Just because we’ve decided to stay put for a few months, doesn’t mean we can’t participate in the couch surfing project in other ways than surfing. In fact, hosting in Antigua has allowed us to meet so many wonderful people. To date, we’ve hosted well over thirty travelers, all of whom we’ve spent time with and felt the privilege of getting to know them.
However we are limited to meeting other travelers, those who come through the city with their backpacks in tow, versus meeting the other hosts, Antigua residents and even those that live Guatemala City. So, we decided to host a meet up, at our fabulous home here that has provided a lovely base for Miro and I over the past several months.
We posted info for the potluck on the Antigua group forum. We put it out there, as the replies started to come in. Several people from Guatemala City showed up as well as some new faces in Antigua. Around thirty people showed up, to fill our little home with life (and booze). The evening included, yummy food, lots of friends (new and old), indita, mashups, drawings, poker, magic tricks, sleeping bags, guacamole on the nose and did I mention indita?
